The World Energy Day

An initiative to increase awareness on the importance of efficient energy management

Universal energy access: the global challenge

24/7 access to energy to power anything is a staple of life we take for granted, but there are 1.1 billion people worldwide (much of sub-Saharan Africa ) who live without access to electricity. One in five people do not have electricity to satisfy basic needs such as cooking, lighting and heating their home. The United Nations has set for the year 2030 the goal for universal access to sustainable forms of energy. But what to do in terms of investment, technology and politics to make this goal a reality?
The main players in the energy sector, as well as expert speakers in the sector from all over the world, gather to discuss it on the occasion of World Energy Day, which occurs on October 23.

Unity makes strength: the World Energy Day 2020

World Energy Day was established in 2012 on the occasion of the World Energy Forum which was held in Dubai, in the United Arab Emirates.
This international initiative aims to raise awareness of the need to develop national policies that reflect a shared global energy perspective: we need to make a common front to guarantee universal access to energy, increase energy efficiency, make rational use of fossil fuels and accelerate the process of transformation towards safer and more sustainable forms of renewable energy (energy is the main cause of climate change, accounting for about 60% of global greenhouse gas emissions).
During World Energy Day, people and organizations are called upon to demonstrate their commitment to efficient energy management and environmental protection, to share and acquire relevant knowledge about the sector and to reflect on the problems associated with excessive energy consumption and polluting emissions.
This year’s theme “Your Efforts Matter. Act Now” focuses on positive and sustainable practices that help reduce the use of electricity and water.
In various industrial sectors, a very useful practice is the recovery and reuse of waste to produce energy. Taking advantage of these wastes, using new technologies for cogeneration or trigeneration will allow the production of electricity and heat with a lower CO2 emission into the environment.

ISOIL Industry solutions at the service of energy saving and environmental protection

ISOIL Industria provides valuable technical support and cutting-edge solutions for measuring liquids, gases, air and steam, and accounting for their thermal energy, allowing to obtain efficiency and real heat production.
ISOIL solutions for flow rate measurement and thermal energy calculation are applicable to heat transfer fluids such as water and its mixtures, glycol, oils, including diathermic oils, saturated and superheated steam, air, methane gas, biogas. Among our new products we point out the ISONRG MV311 thermal energy meter MID004 certified according to EN1434, completely developed in our Research & Development laboratories in Italy and now available on the market.
