The three main cogeneration plants in Monza, managed by Acinque, needed to monitor the efficiency of the systems that produce and distribute hot water to homes and companies in the area via a district heating network (TLR). The need was met thanks to the intervention of our ISOTHERMIC division, which successfully supplied and installed thermal energy calculation systems and methane gas meters (CH4), as well as the ISOD@M data control, acquisition and analysis system.
Case study
The Monza district heating system is a concrete example of environmental sustainability: by reducing the fuel consumed thanks to thermal recovery from large companies, it produces clean zero-mile energy and helps reduce CO2 emissions.
The network that distributes hot water for domestic and sanitary use is powered by three cogeneration plants that simultaneously produce thermal and electrical energy, managed by the multi-utility Acinque.
Intending to make its systems more innovative, high-performance and sustainable, Acinque turned to ISOIL Industria to find a solution that would allow precise monitoring of the systems and provide useful data for accounting for the energy supplied.
To meet these needs, we supplied:
- 20 MV311 energy calculators, each combined with MV110 converters + MS2500 sensors + temperature probes, connected to the plant via third-party dataloggers.
- 4 MV255 battery converters combined with MS2500 universal flanged sensors.
In addition to these measurement tools, we implemented our advanced ISOD@M web-based data acquisition and management software, which allowed us to integrate all new measurements with existing data.
The advantages of ISOD@M software
ISOD@M is a flexible solution that can be adapted to different operational needs.
It features a simple and intuitive graphic interface, designed to offer an immediate and complete view of the system status and has advanced alarm and event management functionality.
In addition to the basic functions, the software is highly customizable thanks to a range of optional packages: advanced data analysis, leak search and analysis, predictive maintenance, geolocalization and data export to external systems.
The implementation of ISOD@M in the power plants managed by Acinque has allowed a large amount of information on energy consumption and heat production to be collected and analyzed in real time, offering a complete overview of the performance of the systems.
